Safer Recruitment and Allegations against Staff

In line with guidance in Working Together 2006, Lambeth Safer Recruitment Sub-committee has issues guidance on new requirements for statutory and voluntary agencies that offer contracted services.

All agencies are now required to appoint Named Senior Officers and Senior Managers in accordance with Appendix 1 Download Appendix 1 here. LSCB sponsored training for staff fulfilling these roles will be offered later this year. Details will follow.

All allegations against staff that may fall under the following criteria must be reported to the LADO on the following form Download LSCB Allegations-against-staff Reporting Form here.

An allegation has been made against a person working with children that he/she has:

1. Behaved in a way that has harmed or may have harmed a child.
2. Possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child.
3. Behaved towards a child/ren in a way that indicated s/he is unsuitable to work with children
