Welcome to Lambeth Safeguarding Children Board

Lambeth Safeguarding Children Board is the statutory body responsible for coordinating and monitoring the effectiveness of multi agency safeguarding work for children in Lambeth. It brings together representatives of each of the main agencies and professionals responsible for helping to protect children from abuse, neglect and harm.

Under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 all statutory agencies have a duty to co-operate with the Local Safeguarding Children´s Board to promote the safeguarding of children in their area.

Safeguarding children is everyone´s responsibility, and all workers and professionals have a role to play, even if working with children is not their main area of responsibility.

The new Pan London Child Protection Procedures became operational from 1st January 2008. The LSCB held a formal launch of the procedures on 27th February. A group of pupils from Turney School performed several pieces of drama to illustrate safeguarding issues from a young person´s view point and asked the LSCB executive members questions about their safeguarding work. Please refer to the downloadable documents for more information and updates on what is new in the procedures.
