Policies and Procedures

This page has access to all the LSCB policies and procedures. Please see Safer Recruitment for policies around safer recruitment. The main safeguarding policies and procedures are contained in the London Child Protection Procedures.  The policies listed below are the local LSCB agreed policies in areas of work that are either not covered in detail by the London Procedures, or are slightly adapted for the local Lambeth context. Some of these are summaries of policies described more fully in the London Child Protection Procedures.

The LSCB and the Lambeth Young & Safe Programme have developed a new protocol named Safeguarding Children from Street Gangs. The Protocol aims at clarifying referral routes for agencies who have concerns about particular young people who may be involved in gangs, or at risk from gangs, or at risk of becoming involved.  Click on the pink link to download the Lambeth Protocol: Safeguarding Children from Street Gangs and the Young & Safe Referral Form.

The Young & Safe Programme is run by Lambeth Council to prevent offending and reoffending, particularly violent offending by young people involved in, or at risk of involvement in, gang activity in Lambeth.  Click on the pick link to learn more about the Lambeth Young & Safe Programme.

The second report of Professor Eileen Munro's independent Child Protection Review was published on the 1st February 2011. The report is called The Child’s Journey and aims to set out for discussion the characteristics of an effective child protection system, and the reforms that might help create such a system.
